Our client, a leader in the chemical industry, with over 100, 000 employees, and a presence in most countries worldwide, is seeking a mid-senior Tax Attorney for their New Jersey based office.

Supporting the Tax Counsel, you will assist with respect to all international tax issues including foreign tax credit issues internally. You will also be involved in US, International and Cross-border tax planning projects in addition to assisting in the planning and structuring of acquisitions, divestitures and reorganizations. In this role, you will research tax legislation and assist in the conduct of due diligence for Merger and Acquisition activity.

Your responsibilities will include:
-Assisting with the analysis of key tax effects of current or proposed transactions such as; reorganizations, acquisitions and divestitures Keep up a thorough knowledge of relevant laws, regulations and accounting standards and provide advice to management in relation thereto
-Assisting in the preparation of the international portion of the US tax return and other forms and related schedules
-Preparing company responses to auditors information data request and notice of proposed adjustments
-Identifying tax planning opportunities within the international and domestic tax area
-Researching various tax issues relating to tax return preparation, audit support, tax planning implementation
-Managing foreign tax credits, earnings and profits calculations, foreign source income

Requirements:

You are the ideal candidate if you:
- Have a JD with 5-10 years specialised international tax planning experience gained either with a top accounting firm or a large multi-national corporation
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and strong leadership skills
- Well developed Analytical skills
- Strong computer skills including Word, Excel and Powerpoint
