Our client, a builder and operator of electrical transmission and distribution networks is growing. They are looking to add a Sr. Manager, Policy & Applications to their team in Edmonton.

Reporting to the VP, Regulatory Affairs, you will be accountable for policy advocacy on regulated electricity matters, as well as monitoring other regulatory policy matters. As well, you will provide advice, analysis and solutions to other departments by leading corporate regulatory initiatives and applications to regulatory bodies and tribunals.

Your responsibilities will include:
-monitoring industry policy issues
-communicating and educating internal stakeholders on policy matters and interfacing with and communicating the company’s policy positions to industry policy setting organizations
-leading the development of written regulatory applications, and managing all issues related to regulatory tariff and facility applications that may potentially impact the company
-analyzing and communicating policy matters, and making recommendations to advance the interests of the company
-building regulatory expertise among others at the company, and establish solid working relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders.


You are the ideal candidate if you:
-have 5-10 years of experience in a regulated utility environment or other comparable organization
-have a law or other related degree
-have detailed knowledge of the Alberta deregulated market, and good understanding of the business implications of the regulatory application process
-are a skilled facilitator, and have the ability to positively influence outcomes
-have excellent written and verbal communication skills
-have excellent mediation and project management skills
-have strong interpersonal and analytical skills
