Our clients, some of Canadaís leading law firms are looking for lawyers who are looking to transition into law firm management type roles. Roles include everything from professional development, student coordination to business development and marketing. If you are looking to remain in the law firm environment but no longer want to practice, there are opportunities for you.

Professional Development Roles:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Creating and delivering training and development programs for students and lawyers;
- Monitoring and overseeing Law Society rules, regulations and continuing education requirements
- Orientation programs, retreats, and maintaining on-going communication amongst the firmís various offices;
- Student recruitment, including assisting with the summer and articling recruitment process
- Career fairs
- Law school outreach

Director, Manager of Student and Associate Programs Roles:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Working with the Student and Associates Programs Department/Committees and other members of t firm management to oversee
o Continuing legal education
o Engagement and retention
o Performance management
o Student and Lateral Recruitment

Business Development/Project Management:

The successful candidate will:
- Work with senior management to implement cutting edge project management and budgeting initiatives
- Build and enhance project management and budgeting precedents, tools and resources
- Develop, analyze and manage budgets working closely with the firmís budgeting software
- Develop and co-ordinate effective training relating to project management and budgeting
- Work with the technology team to design, develop and execute technology tools to support the budgeting program

Requirements:

Requirements:
- 2-7 years of practice experience with a large law firm
- LLB or equivalent, B.Comm or MBA
- The ability to lead large projects, handle multiple priorities and effectively problem-solve
- Proven leadership and project management skills (required for business development); Experience with program and training development (professional development roles)
- Excellent interpersonal, organization, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain effective relationships with diverse group of lawyers, staff and outside contacts
- Interest and experience in mentoring and training others
