Our client, a top tier law firm, is looking to add a Director of Client & Business Development to its world class team. Reporting to the Head of Client Development, you provide strategic and tactical business development support to various practice groups. You will be responsible for proactive targeting of new business development opportunities as well as overseeing competitive intelligence and trend analysis.

This role involves:
-facilitating the development of strategic business development and marketing plans for the assigned practice groups, including competitive analyses, key target analyses, promoting increased visibility, media relations coverage, networking, cross-selling, and alignment with individual lawyer business-development planning.
-Seeking out networking/speaking engagement opportunities for legal professionals, consistent with their business development goals
-developing new business opportunities, including generating prospect lists and researching and recommending new target companies, industries, or localities.
-developing and tracking practice group business- development budgets consistent with the groups� business-development plans.
-Providing leadership to the team including hiring, performance management, team building, mentoring and financial management.
-identifying opportunities for increased visibility with business, trade, and legal media and, working closely with the firm�s media consultant, coordinating press strategy with lawyers.
-analyzing and providing ongoing updates about key industry and local market trends

Requirements:

You are the ideal candidate if you:
-have 7+ years related marketing or business development experience within a professional services/law firm
-are a natural relationship builder with excellent communication skills
--have a natural business acumen
- have the ability to provide creative and collaborative solutions to support client and business development initiatives, prioritize objectives, manage competing requests
-have superior communications, written and verbal, and proven collaboration skills.
-project management skills with ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines
-are a strategic thinker
-have excellent analytical skills
-are knowledgeable about CRM technologies and integration points to marketing communications platforms.
-have general knowledge of how a law firm operates and understanding of running a practice
-are able to lead and mentor more junior team members in business-development and marketing activities
-have the ability to keep up-to-date with market and competitive trends, challenges and goals, relevant technology and marketing media
