Our client, a large multi-bargaining-unit institution, is seeking to add a Senior Employee Relations Advisor to their Ottawa based HR team.

Working with the HR department and reporting to the Labour Relations Director, the successful candidate will contribute to decision-making in strategic labour relations for the organization.

Your responsibilities will include:
-providing clients with advice on labour relations and employment related matters
-overseeing the effective administration of three collective agreements
-working closely with senior management, and internal legal counsel
-taking the lead in building positive relations with union representatives, members and the organization
-leading various projects and activities.

Requirements:

You are the ideal Candidate if you have:

-a University Degree in a related field (labour relations, HR or law)
-4+ years of labour relations experience in a large complex organization
-demonstrated knowledge of collective agreement administration, labour relations and grievance practices and procedures,
-in-depth knowledge of labour law and employment-related legislation
-supervisory or management experience
-experience in labour relations in the broader public sector
-experience in leading, or actively participating in, collective bargaining tables
-excellent negotiation, conflict-resolution, and communication skills (oral and written)
-a track record of effective leadership and participation in difficult discussions
-strong relationship building skills
-initiative and tenacity to work on complex issues and see them through to completion
-strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills
-Bilingualism � French and English (oral and written)
