Description:  
Our client, a leading Canadian financial institution is seeking to add a Legal Reporting Analyst/Corporate Law Clerk to their Legal Services Department.

Reporting to the Senior Legal Counsel, the Legal Reporting Analyst and Corporate Law Clerk will assist the Legal and Compliance Department with tracking, reporting, and analysis in relation to various legal and compliance related matters including: legal, regulatory, and privacy

Requirements:

• Maintaining a metrics system logging all incoming inquiries directed to legal counsels and other Compliance related metrics as applicable;
• Managing departmental mailbox
• Preparing and coordinating monthly, quarterly and ad hoc Legal & Compliance reports to Management and Head Office;
• Maintaining Compliance Workbook with respect to COCO reports to ensure timely completion and ensure all compliance related issues are duly reported;
• Maintaining Inducement reports and report monthly to Compliance department;
• Assisting the Senior Legal Counsel and Director of Real Estate Portfolio in the maintenance and tracking of property leases and contracts;
• Pulling and analyzing Corporate reports off of Dye & Durham website;
• Preparing annual filing and regulatory requirements for the Bank and its subsidiaries;
• Investigating Ombudsman and Privacy complaints;
• Monitoring incoming calls and emails on Ombudsman and Privacy lines and contacting clients as necessary or required;
• Correspond and liaise with Ombudsman for Banking Services and Investments with respect to client complaints;
• Preparing and maintaining Ombudsman and Privacy Log and reporting month end results;
• Coordinating collateral review process;
• Preparing and distributing audit letters to external counsel at year end for the Bank and its subsidiaries;
• Undertaking or assist with projects as assigned;
• Creating and maintaining departmental H:Drive annually, templates and precedents;
• Assisting in training new hires on internal processes and procedures;
• Creating and maintaining internal procedure guidelines to assist in training new hires;
• Coordinating and tracking external courses taken by individuals in the department;
• Tracking and logging Privacy Legislation and updates;
• Creating periodic reports on Privacy Legislation and updates for circulation;
• Supporting department with ad hoc requests (ie. PowerPoint presentations, Excel, Access).
• Assisting the department with wide range of secretarial and clerical functions including drafting of correspondence and documentation with minimal supervision, general support as required
