In order to continue to meet demand, our client, a top tier law firm, is looking for a results oriented lawyer with at least 3 years pertinent experience within a reputable firm to become part of their Marketing and Business Development team, in the role of Business Development Manager, in their Montreal office. Unique non-traditional career opportunity to join a growing team in a supportive work environment.

Responsibilities:

• Support the Head of Business Development in providing strategic and tactical business development support for the firm
• Conduct research, synthesize and analyze data to prepare competitive business intelligence reports on market and industry trends
• Write and edit customized proposals that meet client needs and specifications
• Conduct proposal de-briefs and use feedback to establish best practices
• Manage proposals database and continually enhance proposal templates
• Gather pertinent information and manage collection of matter and other information pertinent to each file
• Help to prepare submissions to directories and ranking organizations, and monitor the evaluation process
• Collaborate with national colleagues on shared business development initiatives
• Define and put in place business development plans and tools
• Assist with individual lawyer business development plans

Requirements:

The ideal candidate has:

• Bachelor degree in law, MBA (having practiced in business law and/or acted as a marketing specialist for 3 years or more).
• Experience in a reputable law firm or professional services organization
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, in French and English
• Knowledge of the legal services market
• Hardwoking
• Team player
• Proactive and resourceful
• Good judgement, autonomous and able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently
• Stellar client service abilities, self-confidence and experience working with all levels of an organization
• Able to handle pressure and excellent time management skills
• Project management and organizational abilities, able to juggle multiple projects while respecting deadlines
• Structured and methodical approach to work with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent research and analytical skills
