Our client, a top tier law firm, is seeking a Proposal Manager to manage all aspects of a proposal response from RFP through to submission to help lead a team to develop winning pitch strategies for this prestigious and forward-thinking national law firm.

As the Proposal Manager, the successful candidate will oversee the full proposal process from client intake to writing custom content through to conducting post-award debriefs. You will provide leadership and direction to the team; strategic opportunity review; develop winning themes and differentiators for proposals; and be responsible for the effectiveness and quality of proposals for all offices across Canada.

Responsibilities Include:

•Overseeing the proposal development process including coordinating and guiding strategic proposal meetings and /or calls with key stakeholders to discuss approach and gather requisite information to customize proposals and presentations, prepare proposal schedules and ensure timelines are in place and deadlines met.
•Managing and preparing responses to RFP’s including content development, final document preparation and follow-up;
•Supervising proposal coordinators for the successful operation of the proposal management function, including: assigning and reviewing work, coaching, training, monitoring, motivating and evaluating performance
•Participating in interviews and hiring of proposal specialists and providing recommendations
•Writing compelling and cohesive content
•Having responsibility for and oversight of the substantive content and content presentation;
•Developing and improving processes for the development and execution of proposals and participating in the development of fee models;
•Coordinating workload and requests to ensure that all proposals are delivered in a timely and effective manner; and
•Ensuring that all activities are tracked, measured and reported on.



You are the ideal candidate if you have:

•A University/college diploma (preferably in marketing or communications);
•A Minimum of 5 years of proposal writing, editing and formatting experience with professional services organizations;
•Advanced writing with extensive experience writing executive summaries;
•Exceptional Written/Oral Communication skills;
•A keen ability to interact with all levels of management and legal professionals;
•Excellent attention to detail and time management skills;
•Strong client service orientation;
•The ability to keep track of and manage several proposals simultaneously;
•Expert in MS Office including PowerPoint, MS Outlook and Excel;
•Experience with any of the following: SharePoint, CRM (InterAction / SalesForce) is considered an asset;
•Experience supervising a team of direct reports is an asset; and
•French language skills are also considered an asset.
