An exciting National Role for a senior litigator looking to utilize their extensive litigation practice experience in a Business development role with a leading law firm.

Our client, a top-tier law firm, is looking to add a Director of Client Development for their Litigation Groups, to its world class team. Reporting to the Head of Client Development and working alongside the Chair of the National Litigation Department, you will provide firm-wide strategic and tactical client support for the Litigation Department, nationally.

Job Description:

Responsible for proactive targeting of new business development opportunities as well as overseeing competitive intelligence and trend analysis, the successful candidate will:

- Provide support to Department Planning, including outlining goals and objectives, practice management, business analytics and key metrics.
- Develop strategic business-development and marketing plans for various expertise and industry-focused groups within litigation including: (competitive analysis, identifying internal capabilities and expertise, promoting increased visibility for the group, media relations coverage, networking, cross selling across the practice groups, etc.)
- Identify and promote networking/speaking engagement opportunities for legal professionals.
- Help develop new business opportunities.
- Act as litigation lead with respect to RFPs, pitches and proposal responses.
- Coordinating the preparation of proposals (the litigation strategy, pricing, team and experience).
- Understanding Alternative Fee Arrangements, budgets and pricing and directing the creation of pricing templates for litigation.
- Coaching and advising Litigation partners, supporting partnership workshops and individual partner business development plans.
- Associate business development programs – Assist with business development sales, cross-selling, client retention and other marketing related training programs.
- Develop and track the practice groups business developments budget and corresponding business-development plans.
- Supporting development and visibility of litigation communications.
- Organize all business-development materials related to the groups, practices, and offices assigned.
- Keep firm apprised of business-development activities, client accomplishments, lateral partners, speaking engagements, articles, alerts, and other relevant marketing activities.
- Develop and coordinate the execution of client-related communications and education (seminars, newsletters, client alerts, receptions, networking events, etc.)

Requirements:

You are the ideal candidate if you:

- Have a JD/MBA/BA in business, law, communications, marketing plus 5-7 years of related litigation and/or business development within a law/professional services firm (law firm preferable).
- Well-developed analytical, interpretive, innovative and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent managerial and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and lead a team.
- Exceptional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Superior project and time management skills, strong ability to multi-task and to meet deadlines.
- Have the ability to provide creative and collaborative solutions to support client and business development initiatives, prioritize objectives, manage competing requests
