Our client, a rapidly growing and well established company with international reach, is seeking a Senior Director, Legal to join their existing team in their head office. This position will be remote for the time being. The Senior Director, Legal will report to the Chief Financial Officer and should have strong corporate and commercial transactional expertise, solid business acumen and the ability to effectively manage legal risks in a regulated industry. Responsibilities: •Draft and negotiate a variety of agreements, including: technology, licensing and professional services contracts; •Work on and and oversee mergers and acquisition transactions, divestitures, stock purchases, strategic investments, joint ventures and other corporate deals in collaboration with the team; •Act as the company’s privacy officer and ensure legal compliance in various jurisdictions; •Manage the company’s intellectual property portfolio and maintain corporate records; •Oversee commercial contracts and templates, legal libraries and contract guidelines; •Advise company executives in a variety of legal matters; •Direct and manage the internal legal team as well as external counsel as necessary; •Collaborate with the operations group, define and implement contracting processes re: technology sales, services, procurement, and partnership agreements; •Highlight legal and commercial risks and advise re: solutions; •Monitor changes in applicable legislation, regulations and rules across multiple jurisdictions; •Oversee corporate secretarial matters; and •Assist with additional legal matters, such as new policies, templates, procedures, and regulatory issues.
