This is an excellent leadership opportunity to join a well established organization as an Adjudicative Tribunals Counsel and manage the Adjudicative Tribunals (the Discipline, Appeal, Capacity and Membership Committees), provide legal advice and ensure that best practices are implemented. This position reports to the Head, Adjudicative Tribunals and this individual, with senior level expertise, will work with the General Counsel, applicable committees, and the Senior Leadership Team and network. Major Responsibilities: • Supervise and manage all aspects of the disciplinary hearing process: Tribunal member selection, coordination of legal counsel, and ensure that the Tribunals Clerks are effectively carrying out their responsibilities. They will offer legal support for the Tribunals in such areas as: administrative law, procedural fairness, and natural justice; • Oversee the selection process re: Tribunal chairs, deputy chairs, public representatives and members and complete the onboarding and training; • Supervise and mentor the Adjudicative Tribunals Clerks; • Provide legal advice to senior leadership; • Establish and oversee policies, guidelines and amendments re: rules and regulations to enhance adjudicative processes; • Conduct case management functions, including presiding over pre-hearing conferences and rendering rulings on motions; • Collect, track and analyze hearing data, and draft and prepare reports on pertinent analytics and KPIs; • Oversee the management of documents re: hearings and Tribunal information; • Manage the posting of notices of allegations and hearing dates, the preparation of Tribunal decisions/orders and reasonings and dissemination and the publication of disciplinary notices as applicable; • Draft reports re: processes and outcomes of the Tribunals as well as updates re: new developments; and • Advise re: regulatory requirements and complex legal matters.
