Treaty Associate/Senior Treaty Associate
Overview
Our client, a leading global reinsurance company, is growing its team and is looking to hire a bilingual Treaty Associate/Senior Treaty Associate for their Toronto or Montreal office. In this role, you will be responsible for drafting and interpreting reinsurance treaties, amendments, and associated documents, while also supporting business analysis and compliance tasks. This is a hybrid position.Responsibilities
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Reviewing and analyzing reinsurance treaties, amendments, and policy forms
- Collaborating with internal teams, to provide timely interpretations of treaty terms and conducting necessary research.
- Assisting in drafting new reinsurance treaties and amendments, working directly with clients, and overseeing the internal approval process.
- Ensuring consistency and clarity in treaty language and managing the development of new provisions when needed.
- Helping maintain treaty templates in both English and French, documenting exceptions.
- Partnering with legal advisors to ensure contract wording is compliant.
- Keeping the internal treaty log updated, documenting exceptions, and generating periodic reports on treaty activities.
- Ensuring compliance with global guidelines on treaty wording and participating in various global and local initiatives related to treaty and data administration.
- Supporting business analysis and project management as needed.
Requirements
You are the ideal candidate if you have/are:
- A degree in Business, Finance, Law, English, or a related field. A legal or contracts background is preferred.
- 3+ years of relevant experience
- Fluency in English and French, both written and spoken, is required.
- Strong technical writing skills and the ability to interpret and draft complex documents.
- Excellent time management and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience in the insurance or reinsurance industry is an asset.
- Familiarity with living benefits products is considered an asset.
- FLMI designation is an asset.
