Senior Construction Litigation Lawyer/Partner (7+ Years)
Overview
Our client, an established and respected renowned Downtown Vancouver Business law firm with a robust Infrastructure, Construction & Procurement Practice Group is looking to add an experienced Construction Litigation Lawyer to join its team with huge growth potential.Job Description:
You will be a key participant in and integral to the Group, which handles some of the highest profile and complex construction matters in the region with huge succession and Partnership opportunities!
Working with owner, developers, contractors and professionals, you will draw on your construction, procurement and business litigation experience to support and work alongside leading practitioners at all stages of a project from procurement and tendering, through design development, construction management to resolution of disputes. You will also act as the liaison for some of the group's largest institutional clients.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will:
- Have a LLB or JD and be a member in good standing of the British Columbia Bar.
- Have a minimum of 6 years experience in construction litigation (and contract law) with demonstrable contract drafting, negotiation and review
- High level of proficiency with drafting of supplementary conditions for any one of the CCDC contracts.
- Experience with project agreements, EPC contracts, construction management contracts, operation and maintenance agreements and Builder’s Lien act knowledge is strongly desired.
- Be a team player and have the ability to work independently.
- Have a desire to take a leadership role and enjoy being client facing.
