Our client, a prestigious international company is looking to add commercial litigation lawyers to their Toronto team. Working as part of the commercial litigation products team, you will be responsible for drafting valuable “savoir-faire” content for a new brand of products for the Canadian market.

The role will include:
• drafting, updating and editing commercial litigation content, including checklists, practice guidance notes, and templates and precedents according to the organization’s writing style;
• monitoring legal practice and market developments in commercial litigation;
• maintaining relationships with external law firm contributors providing content;
• maintaining and fostering relationships with law firms, lawyers, in-house counsel and industry groups to ensure that the practical information is current, and cutting-edge and meets their needs;
• assisting sales team by participating in sales calls and demonstrating service to potential subscribers; and
• assisting marketing team by participating in events and creation of educational programs.

In addition to the description above, the Senior role will include:
• playing a lead role in building the product and service; and
• determining the scope of the commercial litigation content.


You are the ideal candidate if you have:

• 4+ years’ experience (or 8+ years’ for the Senior role) practicing commercial litigation, preferably at a leading Canadian law firm
• Broad general commercial litigation expertise
• LL.B./ JD from a recognized law school
• PC skills and familiarity with electronic research techniques
• enthusiasm and desire to improve the efficiency of legal services
• excellent drafting and writing skills and pay very close attention to detail
• good understanding of the needs and priorities of legal professionals and the legal
• ability to write about complex legal issues clearly and concisely, in lay terms
• entrepreneurial abilities
• enthusiasm, with a desire to improve the efficiency of legal services
• strong analytical, problem-solving skills and issue resolution skills
• exceptional time management, planning and organizational skills
• ability to manage multiple competing deadlines
