The professional development enterprise of a leading educational institution is seeking a dynamic individual to take on a key leadership role, as its Director, Continuing Legal Education Programs. In this strategic role, the Director, CLE Programs will be entrusted with managing the vital non-degree component of the institution’s professional development business. Reporting to the Assistant Dean/Executive Director, the Director, CLE Programs will be a key member of this professional development management team responsible for providing leadership and strategic planning of the CLE business. Leading a team of Program Lawyers while working closely with marketers, finance, media, IT and other professionals, the Director, CLE Programs, will ensure the execution of a wide array of high quality CLE programs developed by the team. This is an exciting opportunity with a broad and diverse scope including strategic planning, program promotion, content development and execution, and team management. This essential senior leadership position will appeal to a candidate with a proven track record of successful leadership in the legal services industry.


The ideal candidate will have:

•An LLB/JD along with admission to the Bar in a Canadian Province;
•A minimum of 5 years legal practice experience;
•A minimum of 5 years CLE/adult education program development experience;
•A minimum of 3 years of leadership and management experience;
•A post graduate certificate or graduate degree in adult education or an MBA degree would be an asset;
•Solid business acumen;
•Strong creativity;
•Excellent organizational and project management skills;
•Solid interpersonal and problem-solving abilities;
•Excellent strategic abilities;
•Superior communication skills; and
•A commitment to excellence.
