Job Description:

As trusted advisors to First Nations, government and communities, the firm provides a unique experience to be on the forefront of ground-breaking business and strategic developmental matters pivotal to these indigenous communities and the Canadian Government.

This is a high level position, working closely with clients alongside the lead partner and advising on and assisting with an array of business focused, aboriginal law issues, with an emphasis on strategic economic development matters. While the practice is a law firm, much of the work will centre on the strategic development from the business perspective.

Working closely with first nations’, government and other stakeholders, you will provide practical strategic, legal and policy advice with a focus on Economic and Business

Development as well as a variety of matters including:

- Rights and Title - The protection of aboriginal rights and assisting with the realization of economic and other opportunities
- Land & Resource Development – with respect to oil pipeline proposals, Natural Gas development, mining, forestry and energy projects
- Treaty negotiations –legal, strategic and negotiation of services to First Nations through the British Columbia Treaty Process
- Special Claims
