This is an excellent In House senior level opportunity at a leading and innovative global company for a lawyer with approximately 5-10 years of pertinent experience to join their legal department and report directly to the VP, Legal Affairs. This lawyer will provide guidance in all matters of legal oversight, governance and risk management and offer practical legal advice in a highly regulated business environment. This position allows for a hybrid work model.

Responsibilities:

· Provide legal guidance on different projects, including but not limited to: contractual matters, innovative processes, implementation of digital solutions, and strategic partnerships. Coordinate and collaborate with internal, local, regional and global functions as needed in that regard;

· Manage the legal and contractual aspects re: the commercialization of innovative projects and provide daily support re: business franchises and functions as applicable;

· Work on strategic projects and commercial transactions and assist the VP, Legal Affairs re: their different responsibilities. This is a multifaceted role that entails advising clients on a variety of matters and working with a diverse and cross functional team; and

· Play a key role in risk management, highlight legal issues for business units, provide applicable legal training, promote high ethical standards and remain up to date re: regulatory developments in a highly regulated industry.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will:

· Have a Bachelor of Law Degree (BCL and/or LL.B). A Masters in life sciences or a Business Administration degree is considered an asset;

· Be called to the Quebec Bar or be a member of the Bar of another Canadian province;

· Have approximately 5-10 years of commercial law experience acquired in a law firm or In House environment. Candidates may have experience in one or more of the following areas as well: antitrust/competition law, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, or advertising law. Experience in healthcare, high-tech or the pharmaceutical industry is considered an asset;

· Applicable digital experience is an asset;

· Have strong leadership skills and solid business acumen;

· Be able to work autonomously and in a team environment and be solution oriented;

· Possess solid communication skills (oral and written);

· Have excellent negotiation and interpersonal abilities;

· Have strong analytical skills and the ability to handle competing priorities that are time sensitive; and

· Be fluently bilingual, French and English (oral and written).
